This recently converted large traditional
Welsh stone and slate barn, formerly part of
the local corn mill estate, offers excellent
accommodation for guests, retaining many original
features. It nestles in a secluded valley just
a mile away from the village of St Clears, which
boasts an excellent selection of small traditional
shops, delicatessens and pubs.
The beautiful
beaches at Laugharne, Pendine, Saundersfoot and
Tenby are a short drive away, and there are numerous
well-known and popular visitor attractions close
by. The Preseli Hills and the Pembrokeshire Coastal
Path are superb destinations for visitors, and
this property’s central location would
make it an ideal base for exploring all of South
West Wales
The spacious open plan kitchen and dining room
has a slate floor and exposed stone walls. The
kitchen area is well fitted with a range of oak
units incorporating a large electric range style
cooker, American style fridge/freezer, microwave
oven, dishwasher and an automatic washing machine.
There are also clothes drying facilities available
in an adjacent outbuilding.
The dining area has
a large farmhouse kitchen table and 10 chairs.
The sitting room has a high vaulted ceiling with
exposed A frame beams, stone walls, solid oak
flooring and a traditional log burner. It is
furnished with ample comfortable seating, occasional
furniture, wide screen colour TV, video, DVD
and digital TV receivers.
There are 5 bedrooms:
most have exposed beams and stone walls, wooden
flooring with rugs and all have pine furniture.
Bedroom 1 is downstairs and has views over the
open countryside; it is furnished with a double
bed and has an en-suite shower room with WC and
wash hand basin. Bedroom 2 is downstairs and
has two single beds and garden views. The family
bathroom is also downstairs and has a bath, large
shower cubicle, WC and wash hand basin. Upstairs
are the remaining three bedrooms and a second
bathroom with shower cubicle, WC and wash hand
basin. Bedroom 3 is the large Master bedroom,
with exposed stone walls and A frame beams. It
is furnished with a double bed and has superb
countryside views. It also has an en-suite shower
room with shower, WC and wash hand basin. Bedroom
4 has a double bed and Bedroom 5 has two single
beds, both have countryside views.
All the beds
have duvets and will be made up with fresh linen
for your arrival, towels are also provided subject
to a £70 refundable holding
deposit (payable to owner on arrival) if required.
Two cots and two highchairs and a stairgate are
available on request.
To the rear of the barn
is an enclosed garden with patio area, garden
furniture and barbecue. There is also access
to the adjacent large field and river for fishing
and walking.
There is full oil central heating
throughout the property and oil and electricity
is charged for at a flat rate of £65 per
week (£45 per week in
July and August) payable to the owner on arrival.
There is ample parking for up to 8 cars in the
courtyard. Strictly no pets at this property.
